Vozdvyzhenskyi Lane – formerly Lado Kvertskhoveli Lane – is hidden from prying eyes. It runs behind the shopping centres and office buildings of Verkhnii Val, having turned from a once lively path into a service road for the new residential blocks of Podil.

Part of the lane is even blocked by the barrier of the Advance business centre – don't try to take a shortcut that way. You will only lose time.

A much better option is to walk out to Verkhnii Val, from where it is a stone's throw to the Lumberjack Barberhouse men's barbershop.

We don't do barriers or condescending looks – only a friendly, masculine atmosphere, a traditional interior and personal service. The barbershop has five chairs. While you wait, you will be offered a drink, and dozens of board games, a games console or the fresh press will help you pass the time.
