1. Consultation. Your barber looks at the shape of your head, hair density and cowlicks, and asks how you usually style your hair. Together you choose the transition height and the length on top.

2. Short zones. The sides and back are taken down with a longer guard, then the lower part is worked with shorter guards. The transition line sits at the occipital bone or slightly below.
